SCC 2023 23 & 24 November
After several successful editions, Arnhem Studiestad is again organizing the Student City Challenge in Arnhem. The ultimate event for changemakers!
Arnhem students have a number of things in common. One of them is the future. Do you also sometimes worry about living, studying and working in the city? We’re going to work on city challenges like:
- Discover student housing
- Discover hotspots
- Share clean energy
One thing is certain: inaction is not an option!
During the Student City Challenge, you work with other Arnhem students on challenges that affect your daily life.
The Challenge begins with a kick-off on 20 November from 17:00 to 19:00. The event itself is on Thursday 23 November (15:00-22:00) and Friday 24 November (09:00-17:00).
A team of dedicated professionals will be on hand to coach you throughout this Challenge. Various workshops will help you come up with ideas and solutions. The students with the 3 best ideas will win cash prizes, as well as the chance to follow up on their solution with coaching (Start Club Arnhem) and financial support.

A BILINGUAL EVENT
You and your fellow students will work together as a multidisciplinary team during the project. Depending on the composition of the team, communication will be in Dutch or English. The workshops will be run in Dutch, but an English translation will be provided.
COACHES
Want to learn from the best? Benefit from experienced coaches who will help, support, advise and ask the right questions. And so lead your team to success!
Jury
During the event you present your ideas to a panel of judges twice. On Thursday you present your idea, on Friday your solution!
The judges know what a Challenge is all about and are curious about your ideas and solutions. They’ll tell you what you did well, and give you tips. You can also join a "pitching" workshop, so you’re well prepared for this moment.
PROGRAM
During the kick-off on November 20th, the clients will give pitches about the various challenges. After you have formed groups with fellow students, you will start working as a team! On Thursday, November 23rd, and Friday, November 24th, you will attend workshops and collaborate on a solution. You will pitch this solution to the jury at the end.
Themes
Together with other students, you’ll face challenges that affect your daily life. During the kick-off, you’ll already choose one of the three themes: discover student housing, discover hotspots and share clean energy.

The Student City Challenge will again take place at Rozet in Arnhem.

Prize
The teams with the 3 best ideas will go home with:
- 1st prize: €750
- 2nd prize: €500
- 3rd prize: €250
